Haiti is in our Prayers

Tragedies happen everyday and most of the time they are unexplainable and unexpected. A sad series of events can take place in your very own home out of nowhere and leave you broken, desperate for help, and confused as to how or why this happened. On January 12, the country of Haiti was hit with a catastrophic earthquake that read a 7.0 on the Richter scale. The number of casualties is still (and will probably remain) unknown from how severe the natural disaster was. Being a third-world country it is already difficult for them to have commodities you & I take advantage of every day and this makes the struggle of survival even harder. Right now people all over the world need to look past race or skin color and realize what we all have in common: that we are human beings. beScene is not what you could consider your typical humanitarian organization, but we all know when a helping hand, no matter how small or great, is needed and appreciated. On January 16, beScene Mag collaborated with the American Red Cross and event coordinator Karla Sanchez to host a fundraiser @ the Tuscany Bistro in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ft. Lauderdale, FL The event turned out to be a huge success! We raised over $600 and collected canned goods for the cause. We also had Haitian natives come show support (a special thanks to Handsome Nick for sharing his comedic abilities). Also there to lend a hand and support was KG Money Entertainment who brought a number of guests to help out. beScene would also like to thank Tito Puentes, Jr. & Reggie Pierre for also coming to stand up for this great cause. If you would like to donate food, money, or even clothing please visit www.redcross.org for more information. Remember there are people out there suffering and in dire need of your help.

These people below made an impact on Haiti and supported our fundraiser, enjoy:

TOTAL WAS: $767.00 for Haiti
