What is the first thing that goes thru your mind when looking at this picture? Oxymoron, a conflict of ideas, a conflict of beliefs, a topic better left alone. I would have to agree with these priliminary thoughts. Jews for Jesus? wtf the Jews killed Jesus if I remember correctly. All my life I was raised in a catholic school where we were taught that the Jews had a choice and they chose to condemn Jesus to death over a murder. Jesus was crucified, died was buried and on the 3rd day he rose from the dead in fulfillment of the scriptures, and what is this Jews for Jesus? its as if the world has turned itself upside down and now hamburgers eat people and Jews are for Jesus. These are the thoughts that run thru my mind by just looking at its store name. Also, there are other thoughts of curiosity who, what, where, why and how? So upon further investigation it turns out that no, the world isnt on its head and no hamburgers are not going to eat you. This store with the eye cathing sign stating " Jews for Jesus" is an organization that started in 1973 with the intent of "making the messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to their Jewish people worldwide". Their basic cause if "to dismiss evangelistic methods and materials that are couched in Christian presuppositions and lingo, because they reinforce the assumption that Jesus is for "them" not "us". I enjoy this frame of mind it instigates conversation and an exchanging of ideas and beliefs between people of different religions. So in keeping with the Jews for Jesus fram of mind let us add our two cents and post what comes to mind when looking at this picture.
