The Teen Board
“The Teen Board” Pre-Media FundraiserSouth Florida Teens and Tweens make a difference in their community.
Miami, Florida– June 21st 2010 – “The Teen Board”, is back and revamped! Opening their doors to South Florida’s trendsetting young teens and tweens. The original Florida Teen Board was established in the early 1980’s by “Jordan Marsh” and “Burdines” department store to provide young teens (boys and girls) with the opportunity to showcase their talents by doing fashion shows and special events at local shopping malls, specialty stores, and community organizations. Many of the original members have built very successful businesses in South Florida. These businesses continue to give back to the community that helped get them their start.
Today’s Teen Board has been re-focused and re-vamped into a non-for-profit foundation where teens from all areas and personal backgrounds model for their own personal cause. Every one of the models on The Teen Board has their own personal stories to share. Some of them have traumatic stories, which they use to empower and encourage others who have been through similar challenges. The Teen Board models use their personal experiences to help and provide an emotional shelter for the teens and tweens in their communities. It is The Teen Board’s mission to be committed to partnering with all schools, associations, and community leadership to create and sustain a diverse and inclusive culture while being advocates for positive change in the schools, promoting activities and events that will bolster their internal reputation. One of their partnerships is with the South Florida After-School All Stars (SFASAS), a local chapter of the leading national organization that provides year-round, school-based, after-school programs, including academics, health and fitness to middle-school aged students.www.TheTeenBoard.com
The Teen Board’s fundraiser at DaVittorio (restaurant and lounge) Friday, June 18th 2010, was a heartwarming event at the site of these young teens and tweens personal stories. Giving back to their community is to say the least, these teens are shaping the youth through their personal endeavors. Adorned in “ella bella roZio’s” one-of-a-kind fabulous dresses this was surely a night to remember. The teens were pampered with the gorgeous MOTIVES by Loren Ridinger make-up. The night consisted of a cocktail hour of champagne and hour d’oeuvres provided by DaVittorio restaurant while viewing fabulous pieces from Yoli Recio renowned and celebrated artist in their “silent auction”. Followed after a fashion show sponsored by “ella bella roZio” and their spectacular one-of-a-kind NEW Moroccan inspired dresses. With beats from DJ Anthony Pisano making this the “must-see” event of the year.
