Fashionists, shopaholics, and curious onlookers joined Lady Lux Boutique for a night of treats and an exclusive glimpse at the new spring collection! The boutique had a great turn out considering its small size. The Scene: Small chit -chat here and there and lots of woman with plenty of merchandise waiting in line for the two dressing rooms to become available. Although the line was long; the champagne, white wine, and wall-to-wall retail eye candy kept the guests busy and entertained. The attendee’s even got a chance to give to the disaster relief for Haiti by donating five dollars to the American Red Cross. If you missed the event, Lady Lux is open from Mon-Fri: 11am-7pm and Saturday from 10-6. It’s a tad hard to find but don’t let that discourage you, there are lots of fabulous fashion finds that won’t make a dent in your wallet; heaven sent for all fashionista’s out there.

Chop Shop Chix Beauty Labin
There was a breeze that night, February 12, with a spark of electricity stinging the air. It was the Grand Opening of the Chop Shop Chix Beauty Labin none other than our beautiful Miami. And if you were worried you’d miss it, you were mistaken. The scene was set with spotlights illuminating the shop like homing beacons, beckoning all to follow. Salon owners Big Ed & Amir Youssef really outdid themselves, having a step & repeat for all to pose at.
The night was definitely a memorable one, what with gift bags being set up and distributed amongst guests and a live DJ tearing it up for the crowd. After their initial soft opening a few weeks back, they were prepared for a good night. Spectacular is the only word to describe any experience that night; from the drive, to the parking lot, to the entrance, to the exit where the cars are parked. With a client base so multi-cultured and multi-gendered, there is only room for experience and growth as both men and women can enjoy the fruits of all their labors.
So don’t hesitate, call in and make a date. They will definitely make an impact on your life…but only if you want it, over at the Chop Shop Chix Beauty Lab!

Miami International Film Festival
It's been a year of dramatic budget cuts for the Miami Film Festival, but somehow they were able to pull it off for yet another round. Just as the word "change" is everywhere this new decade, the Miami Film Festival has changed as well. With a larger number of films and eclectic genres to choose from, the festival is breaking free from the ordinary expectations and giving the public a novel dose of world-wide footage. It is set to jump off the 5th of March and last through the 14th. From locations ranging north and south of the Dade County metropolis, our city is going to be buzzing with proclaimed and aspiring filmmakers.
In the past few years their target audience has not been our generation but the older society, since tickets have always been slightly pricey. A change the festival has made is marketing it towards the youth this year. They want to see fresh faces and bring the flavor of our generation to the festival. With films like No One Knows About Persian Cats, an Iranian movie about two teenagers submerged in the outlawed, underground indie-rock scene and their struggle to pursue their prohibited dream, I don't believe the festival will have a hard time catching our attention at all.
So besides Ultra, this is going to be a March highlight event! For film information, seminar information, ticket information and a calender to mark your favorites, visit www.MiamiFilmFestival.com or look out for further updates from me, Brittny to you, on our blog this month!
Ciao!

Pattern Play
When it comes to prints, more is definitely more this season. If designers like Dries Van Noten and Donatella Versace have their way, you'll be mixing and matching from head to toe. And we're not just talking traditional florals, though there were plenty of pretty ones at Etro, Anna Sui, and Tory Burch. Duro Olowu's tribal motifs and Givenchy's digital designs were engineered for maximum impact.

GET LOW X
Was going out on a Thursday night when I had to wake up at 7:30 in the AM the next day, worth it?? Hell Yes!! "Get Low 10" at The Vagabond was a success in my eyes, great music, great weather and best of all great food. Although I did miss the Colt 45 by a smidge, the Cuba Libres we're flying left and right! There was a point in the night that I had to stop and think "Could it get any bass-eer than this?" and it could. With each DJ would come a new level of excitement, Miami's local talent sure stepped it up last night and nothing can beat the fire pit outside rocking the beats that just made you want to buy one of the best burgers I've ever had. Great music and great food should always go hand in hand. If only “Get Low 11" would come here sooner than later. After only 10 installments, Get Low has grown into the biggest dubstep night in Miami. For Get Low X, the (((SHAKE))) crew showcased the Local All-Stars that have made it what it is today.
